Women Business Enterprise Program (WBE)

The state of Ohio’s Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) program is designed to assist women-owned businesses
in obtaining contracts for goods and services, construction, architecture, engineering, information technology, and professional services. The WBE program does not apply a procurement goal or set-aside target for state government contracts. The state of Ohio developed the program because it recognized the need to encourage, nurture, and support the growth of women-owned businesses to foster their development and increase the number of qualified competitors in the marketplace.

NAWBO CERTIFIED WOMEN'S BUSINESS ENTERPRISE

Originally certified in 2023; renewed 2024-2026

Founded in 1975, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) members represent more than 12 million women business owners across America. Our members are diverse in many ways, including the size of their business, the sectors, and communities they serve, the stage of business development, their race, ethnicity, geographic business areas, and political leanings that determine policy views.

NAWBO advocates for women business owners, regardless of political affiliation, encouraging and supporting bipartisan legislation focused on building and strengthening a sustainable business economy. NAWBO endorses bipartisan legislation that builds coalitions, is backed by data, and advances the business community.

NAWBO'S Mission, Goals, and Values

NAWBO’s mission is to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide by:

  • Strengthening the wealth-creating capacity of our members and promoting economic development within the entrepreneurial community

  • Creating innovative and effective change in the business culture

  • Building strategic alliances, coalitions and affiliations

  • Transforming public policy and influencing opinion makers

In everything we do, we value diversity and inclusion and work to ensure that all women business owners feel like they belong:

In principle and in practice, NAWBO values and seeks a diverse and inclusive membership. NAWBO seeks full participation in the organization by all business owners who support our mission to empower women entrepreneurs, regardless of race, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. NAWBO’s goal is to effectively represent the full diversity of the women business owner community and to expand access to leadership opportunities across the full spectrum of our membership.
